NDTVMovies.com Shocked by the racial attacks on Indian students in Australia, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has turned down an honorary Australian doctorate from an Australian university. Big B said that his decision to turn down the offer was driven completely by emotions.

In a letter in response to Bachchan's denial to the doctorate, the vice chancellor of the University has expressed his respect for Big B's decision, but has also asked the actor to reconsider his decision.

Do you think he should reconsider his decision or stick to his previous decision of refusing the honour?

Dawesh , Delhi :

I beleive that BIG B should reconsider his decision. He has all the rights to make a statement and teach the path of affection to the Australian teenagers. I beleive he should make an effort to imbibe Indian values in these directionless youngsters. Infact charity begins at home. BIG B should also set an example for our politicians who have turned a deaf ear to the plight of the victimised indians

I must congratulate Abmitabha for his decision.I will also suggest that Indians must bycott all Australian product and ask their citizen to gradually come out from that country. At present Australian Universities are full of Indian students.Because Australian guys donot believe in higher studies. Once you will bycott them they will come to knees.

He must reconsider and accept in my oppinion as by doing so may be will be able to better the situation for the indian studnets there . Also it will send out a strong message to the faction of the australian populace that if their universities consider the indian good enough to bestow honorary degrees matbe they need tomake amends to their way of thinking. It is the small actions that bring out big changes in communities.

I don't think Mr. Bachan does not deserves the honorary degrees. What has he done to get this degree ? His movies are all average movies, unlike others who has some masterpiece like Guru Dutt or Dev Anand (Guide), Mr. Bachan does not have any classic movie(s) to his credit.

Hats of to Amitabh for sticking to what every on says but often fail to act on - a true disdain for racial hatred. Sadly racism is endemic to many European Countries and not just Australia but we must all take a lead from AB's example.

Mr Bachaan did the thing by refusing the honour. He should stick to his first decision. There are so many students being attacked ,robbed and killed in Australia. If it is not a racist attack, then what it is.
