Playing a character of a prison inmate in Madhur Bhandarkar’s forthcoming film Jail, actor Neil Nitin Mukesh caused a sensation when he shot a nude scene for the film.

He shot continuously for 40 days and spent several hours behind bars to complete the film but out of all the difficult scenes, according to him, the nude sequence was one of the most emotionally challenging things for him to do.

Says he, “Once you watch me in the nude, you won’t feel bad about it. You will not question why I have done that or why the director has made me do that scene.”

Says he further, “Going nude was extremely difficult not because I took off my clothes in front of five men but because it expresses how a common man is raped.”

Neil says that when people watch the film, all the rumors and fuss concerning the nude scene will fizzle out because it’s not just about being nude. As he says, “Once any common man watches the film, he will feel that his emotions and senses have been raped. Anybody can connect with that sequence.”

This is not all. Neil also didn’t take a bath for five days because he didn’t want to be disconnected from his reel life character Parag Desai.

Says he, “I was living like my character of an inmate. I didn’t take bath because when we take bath we get relaxed. We forget the whole day’s stress. I never wanted to distress myself.”

He even switched off his mobile and didn’t talk to his mother, father and even his close friends. “It was very important for me to do so. I really lived a life of a jail inmate,” he says.

Neil says that when shooting for the film was over, it was quite a challenge for him to switch over to his real life.
