
Shiney Ahuja, the poster-boy of Indian arthouse cinema, has been arrested on charges of raping his domestic help. While Bollywood and the rest of the country takes in this shock, we take you through the highlights of Shiney's life thus far.

After appearing in music videos for a few years, Shiney Ahuja finally got his break in 2005 with Sudhir Mishra's Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. He stunned everyone with his stellar performance in this film, and quite expectedly bagged the Best Newcomer awards at Filmfare, Stardust and even IIFA that year.

Also in 2005, Shiney appeared in a lesser-known film called Sins opposite Seema Rahmani.

Shiney teamed up with his Hazaaron co-star Chitrangada Singh for a second time with the film Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, which also released in 2005.

In 2006, Shiney teamed up Mahesh Bhatt for Gangster. He starred opposite Kangna Ranaut along with Emraan Hashmi. He bagged the Filmfare award for Best Actor in a Negative Role, as well as the IIFA Best Actor (Critics) Award.

Shiney's next release was Tanuja Chandra's Zindaggi Rocks opposite Suhmita Sen.

Shiney did another Mahesh Bhatt film in 2006, called Woh Lamhe, where he was cast opposite Kangna Ranaut once again.

In 2007, Shiney starred opposite Shilpa Shetty in the ensemble film Life...in a Metro which was directed by Anurag Basu.

In 2007, Shiney did a supporting role in the Akshay Kumar starrer Bhool Bhulaiyya.

In 2008, Shiney gave yet another career-defining performance in Khoya Khoya Chand where he was paired with Soha Ali Khan, whom he was rumoured to have had an extra-marital affair with.

In 2008, Shiney acted in a not-so-successful film called Hijack. This has been Shiney's last film so far. He is said to be working on a film with Preity Zinta, called Har Pal.

On the personal front, Shiney Ahuja is married to a woman called Anu Ahuja, and the two have a daughter together.
