Joan Baez was one of the most popular faces that appeared in Woodstock in 1969. She was known for her songs of protest then, as she is now.
She is nearly 70, but very much active on the music scene. Her latest album, Day After Tomorrow released in 2008, and she is currently touring to promote it.
True to her liberal style, she recorded a new version of We Shall Overcome in support of the people of Iran.
