A novel version of Vidya's Kahani

Highlights

  • Advaita Kala, who has penned the script of forthcoming Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani, is planning to write a novel on the same story line, albeit a bit differently.
  • Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Kahani is a story of a pregnant woman's (Vidya Balan) search for her husband through the bylanes of Kolkata.
  • The film, a thriller, begins with London-based, six-month pregnant Vidya Bagchi's arrival in Kolkata amidst the Durga Puja festivities. With nothing to rely on except fragments of her husband's memories, all clues seem to reach a dead end.
  • "Advaita is writing the story. She is going to write it a bit differently it won't be like the film... as people would have seen the film ...the screenplay and would get bored. She has a plan to write a novel in a different way...so that will be another interesting thing to wait and watch. She has a different take...her thought process is totally different to the film, which will be good," Ghosh said in an interview.
  • Ask the director if he is fine with this idea of novel, and he says, "Ya..its ok. As all she (Advaita) has in her mind is to write it. I am sure she will not do anything that will harm the film."
  • The film will hit cinema houses on March 9, while the novel should release by the end of this year.
