New Delhi: "I'm the biggest star today. Koi shak?" Aamir Khan said at a press meet recently. Lest he be accused of immodesty, it wasn't the box office records his film PK is currently shattering in China that the actor was referring to but his increased girth in aid of new film Dangal.

At over 90 kilos, there is no 'shak' that Aamir is the 'biggest' star around.

Famed and feared in equal measure for his insistence on perfection, Aamir, 50 last March, has upsized to play wrestler Mahavir Phogat in Dangal. He will also lose weight to play the younger version of his character after he's shot his scenes as the older Mr Phogat.

In this, he is irrefutably risking his health. "I am 95 kg right now and that's enough for the character. My breathing has changed, when I tie my laces, my stomach comes in between. After 20 seconds, I have to (take a long) breath," Aamir told the press in Mumbai some days ago.

And his family are concerned. "My mom and my wife are very worried about my health as they feel I am playing with my health. Even I feel the same," he added.

Mahavir Phogat is the father of celebrated women wrestlers Geeta and Babita.

Meanwhile, China loves PK. The tickets sold since the film released there last Friday has taken its total earnings abroad to over 220 crores. PK is now Bollywood's best performer at home and abroad:
