Aditya Roy Kapoor breaks a camera on sets of Aashiqui sequel

Thr actor ended up flinging it towards the three-camera set up.

Highlights

  • Sometimes actors do get carried away by the characters they are portraying in front of the camera. Something similar happened to Aditya Roy Kapoor while shooting in South Africa for a sequel to the 1990 Aashiqui produced by Bhushan Kumar.
  • Apparently, Aditya had a scene in which he is shown to be drunk and is supposed to crash the bar with closely placed furniture. To get the desired effect for the scene, he had a few drinks to actually look sozzled. And as he got up to throw the stool at the bar, the Bollywood newbie ended up flinging it towards the three-camera set up.
  • According to a well-placed source, “He got so much into the character of this drunk guy that it was difficult to differentiate whether it was the alcohol in him doing the act or the actor in him! He threw the chair with so much intensity that he actually broke the camera on the side of bar.”
  • Co-producer Mahesh Bhatt maintains a cautious as well as a humourous tone while commenting on the incident, “An overenthusiastic reaction needs to be understood. However, the scene demanded a passionate outburst which he accomplished with great ease but he should be more careful in the future so that he doesn’t injure anyone.”
