New Delhi: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is filming Sarbjit in Amritsar, looked every bit the Punjabi belle as she offered prayers at the city's Golden Temple. Ash plays Dalbir Singh, sister of Sarabjit Singh, the Indian citizen who died in a jail in Pakistan in the Omung-Kumar-directed biopic.

Ash, 42, looked lovely in minimal make-up and a mauve salwar kameez.

Scenes for the biopic were shot inside the langar or community kitchen and featured the actress cleaning utensils, cleaning floor and cooking vegetables.

Ash was accompanied by her three-year-old daughter Aaradhya and her mother Vrinda. The three of them were spotted at the Mumbai Airport on February 11.

Dalbir Kaur earlier told PTI, "Aishwarya is the right choice. I came to know that while shooting a scene for the film earlier."

"I hope the biopic will highlight the plight of Indian prisoners lodged in various jails in Pakistan. I strongly wish that film should depict the hardships faced by Sarabjit Singh during his life time especially the time he had spent in the Kotlakhpatrai jail of Lahore in Pakistan where he was killed in a murderous attack by one of the jail mate," she added.

Sarbjit, which opens on May 20, will be shot in various cities of Punjab including Amritsar, Malerkotla and Patiala.
