New Delhi:

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to make a comeback on silver screen with director Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa. However, now that Aishwarya is back from her sabbatical of four years she has reportedly been signing projects with the creme de la creme of the film industry.

The latest rumour doing rounds is that the former beauty queen has signed a film under Karan Johar's coveted Dharma banner. Karan Johar's production house currently has two big projects lined up for 2015 and 2016. While the first film is titled Shuddhi, featuring actor Salman Khan in the lead role, the other is an untitled project for which Karan Johar has roped in actor Aamir Khan as the male lead. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, it is speculated, has been signed in for the same movie, set for a 2016 release.

On her birthday on November 1, Aishwarya told media persons that she has zeroed in on a "few more scripts" other than Jazbaa. She had said, "Besides Jazbaa, I have also given the go ahead to a few more scripts. I thought of making an announcement about that today (her birthday) but I thought, with due respect to the director and producer, it would be right for them to make an announcement."

Aishwarya also said, "Unlike last two years, this year I have something to talk about. During the course of the year in the midst of the work you will get to see all the ingredients of Hindi films. But that may not be in one film but in couple of films. This year there is lot of personal and professional work. I am excited that it's going to be a busy year. I will work hard to give my best."

In a report published in Asian Age , a source was quoted as saying: "Aishwarya has never worked with Dharma Productions before. She was earlier supposed to play the female lead in Dostana. However, a particular part of the movie had Aishwarya paired with Bobby Deol while Abhishek was courting her in the movie which she felt would not sit well with the audience."

The source further said: "This will also be the first time that Aishwarya and Aamir will be sharing screen space after the short sequence in Dharmesh Darshan's Mela. Incidentally, this is also the first time that Aamir Khan would be working under the Dharma Productions banner," adds the source.
