Alia Sang the National Anthem in Mumbai, Felt Very Shaandaar

New Delhi: On August 23, Alia Bhatt ensured a melodious start to the final night of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi season 2 in Mumbai. Alia sang the National Anthem to commence the proceedings of the evening and actors Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Star India CEO Uday Shankar and cricketer MS Dhoni too joined in with her.

A few hours before that match was about to start she shared her excitement on Twitter:
 

She also took to photosharing site Instagram to say: "Felt very very shaandaar" to have sung the national anthem.
 

 
Apart from being a stunner in Manish Malhotra couture, she sure did mesmerise the crowd at the venue. This is what The Official Website Of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi has to say: "The atmosphere in the stadium was already electric. Alia's performance added to that atmosphere and mesmerized the audience with her melodious and lyrical voice. Her rendition of our National Anthem only strengthened the belief of returning to our Indian roots which has been displayed throughout the tournament through the Indian sport of kabaddi."

The world has been made privy of Alia's talent earlier with an unplugged version of the song Samjhawan from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, which became quite a hit in a short while.

However, she stepped into a singer's shoes when she sung the slow track Sooha Saha for Highway, composed by none other than maestro AR Rahman.

On the work front Alia is prepping for the release of her upcoming romantic comedy Shaandaar, which will feature the Student Of The Year actress with Shahid Kapoor for the first time on the silver screen. Her upcoming movies also include Udta Punjab and Kapoor and Sons.

Meanwhile, the match, played between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls in Mumbai declared U Mumba as the Pro Kabaddi League 2015 Champions.
