  • Praising the army for saving people, he said: "Our army also did so much that words are not enough to applaud them. Many of them died saving people. Army personnel always come forward in times of tragedies and help people. I salute them."

"A lot of media persons put their life in danger and reached those spots where no one could. They did some very good work, a lot of people didn't know whether their relatives were alive or not," the 70-year-old said here Thursday.

"But they talked to the people there, took their phone numbers and contacted their families and told them about the well-being of their relatives in Uttarakhand. I congratulate the media for this noble job," he added.
