Amitabh Bachchan Thanks Fans For Padma Honour

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who was accorded with Padma Vibhushan, one of the highest civilian awards of the country, has thanked his fans for making him what he is today.

The 72-year-old star was honoured by President Pranab Mukherjee at an investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on March 8.

"The Padma Vibhushan awarded by the President of India at a most honoured and prestigious ceremony. Humbled and so grateful to all the well-wishers and fans whose love and affection and following brought me from humble beginnings to this state," Big B posted on his official Facebook page read. The journey from being Bollywood's 'Angry Young Man' to Shahenshah was not an easy one. The star had trouble getting into the mould of Hindi filmdom because of his conventional looks, but he carved a special place in the showbiz with his acting prowess.

Big B has delivered some exceptional performances in his over four-decade-long film career, with movies such as Deewar, Agneepath, Sholay, Don, Black and Paa to his credit.

Giving a glimpse of his journey, Mr Bachchan also shared an image of getting Padma awards, namely Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.

Meanwhile, the megastar is gearing up for the release of Shoojit Sircar's Piku with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, slated for release on May 8. This will be followed by Bejoy Nambiar's Wazir co-starring Farhan Akhtar.
