With the Ramjanmabhoomi case verdict to be delivered on September 24, Bollywood producer SajidNadiadwala today said he is postponing the release of hisPriyanka Chopra-Ranbir Kapoor starrer
Anjaana Anjaani.
Now, the movie would be released on October one.
The decision comes in the wake of the film's lead pair,Ranbir and Priyanka opining that audiences may not go totheatres to watch the movie in view of the security concerns.
Talking to the media here today, Sajid said initially hewas of the opinion that the release should be according tothe schedule.
"There is no denying that the Ayodhya issue is a muchbigger and needs its respect. Ranbir had addressed the issuewith me and Eros and we gave it a thought. Ranbir is of courseone of the most looked upon youth icons of our time and hispoint was a much sensitized and a valid one."
After having discussed this with Eros, we have decidedto release the film on October 1, he added.
Sajid said the film is a very happy one and celebrateslife. Hence releasing it on a peaceful day would be better.
Ranbir was the first to voice his concerns over the filmreleasing on a day when the verdict pertaining to theownership title of the disputed site in Ayodhya will bepronounced.
"It is an important day for the country. I hope there isno dispute and the decision is favourable to all. Audiencesmay not be able to go watch the film on that day," Ranbir hadsaid. Even Priyanka echoed similar views.
