CID in her upcoming romantic-thriller
Bombay Velvet.
The original song was sung by Geeta Dutt and was picturised on the veteran actress Waheeda Rehman.
CID also featured late actor Dev Anand.
The makers of
Bombay Velvet have got the rights for the song and it has been reframed with a more contemporary feel.
The song has been picturised on Anushka, who plays a 1960s jazz singer named Rosie Noronha. In fact, it is by singing
Jaata kahaan hain diwane that Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at Johnny Balraj's (played by Ranbir Kapoor)
