Ashutosh, whose
Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se starringAbhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone is lined up forrelease, said he was very proud to see the way Marathi moviesare comping up these days.
While Ashutosh has helmed Hindi movies like
Lagaan,
Swades and
Jodhaa Akbar, he has only acted in Marathi cultmovies including
Sarkarnama,
Vazir and
Ek RatraMantarleli.
Ashutosh was speaking on the occasion of music launchof Marathi movie
Sumbaran directed by Gajindre Ahire. Themovie would be premiered in the ensuing International FilmFestival of India to be held in Goa.
Sumbaran, a musical, would be Ahire's fourth film tobe screened at Goa. Earlier, his

Shevri were shown at the prestigious film festival.
Ashutosh also recalled his long association with themovie's music director Rahul Ranade. "My association withRahul goes back to 1984 when we both had worked in
Holi. Itwas because of him and the way the movie has shaped up, that Iwas compelled to come for this music launch," Ashutosh said.
Sumbaran is a romantic love story of a village leftbehind starring popular Marathi actors including JitendraJoshi, Makrand Anaspure.
