At Cannes 2014, Indian film Titli and Uday Chopra

Uday Chopra is the producer of the Cannes festival's opening film Grace de Monaco.

Highlights

  • A new face has been added to the Indian contingent at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Joining Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto will be Dhoom: 3 actor Uday Chopra, in his capacity as producer of the festival's opening film Grace de Monaco.
  • Grace de Monaco, a biopic of Hollywood star-turned-princess Grace Kelly, features Nicole Kidman in the lead. YRF Entertainment, the Yash Raj Films subsidiary headed by Uday Chopra, is one of six studios credited as producers.
  • The only Indian film at Cannes this year is Titli, Love Sex Aur Dhoka writer Kanu Behl's first film as director. Titli, starring Ranvir Shorey, will be screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.
  • Also featuring in the Un Certain Regard line-up is actor Ryan Gosling's debut as a director, Lost River.
  • The films in competition feature some big names: Jean-Luc Godard's Adieu Au Langage, Michel Hazanivicius' The Search, Tommy Lee Jones' The Homesman and Mike Leigh's Mr Turner.
  • The Cannes festival will be held from May 14 to 25 this year.
