Ayushmann Khurrana: The Upbeat Underdog

A still from Hawaizaada

Mumbai:

Actor Ayushman Khurrana may have kept a low profile post Bewakoofiyaan but he's certainly flying high now or well at least he hopes to, with his next film Hawaizaada. Ayushmann, oddly enough seems rather upbeat for an underdog.

"I think the first movie (Vicky Donor) was so big that everyone's expectations began skyrocketing. I only had one bad film, which was Bewakoofiyaan in 2014. I think people are very fickle. I'm actually used to the rejections. Infact, in most of the auditions, I have been rejected. But yes, this is part of life and I am this "underdog" who is going to kill it this time," he said.

Hawaizaada falls in the fictional biopic genre, considering not too much is known about Shivkar Talpade, the scientist on whom the film is based. Scientist Shivkar Talpade was the first person to fly an airplane, even before the Wright brothers.

However, since it is the season of biopics in Bollywood, we had to ask Ayushmann which other biopic is he particularly looking forward to. He said that he is looking forward to the biopic on cricketer MS Dhoni.

The Awards season is also clearly affecting Ayushmann as the actor seems confident to bag all the awards next year along with a National Award.

Here's hoping that is the case for the multi-talented Ayushmann and that it's not just a case of his head in the clouds.
