Political leaders of various parties and people fromthe sports and media industries were also in attendance forthe wedding ceremony Tuesday.

Roy personally welcomed Uttar Pradesh governor BLJoshi, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, Congress GeneralSecretary Digvijay Singh, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad,Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav alongwith theparty's expelled MP Amar Singh who arrived to bless thecouple.

Among sportsmen were former Indian skipper SauravGanguli, cricketer RP Singh and hockey star Dhanraj Pillai.

On one of the three stages in the wedding hall,singer Jaspinder Narula provided a musical treat to theaudience and at the other the bride and groom were kept busyposing with the string of dignitaries lining up to greet them.

The third stage was kept reserved for the "pheras"later in the night.

For the food lovers, there was also a sumptuousspread of Mughlai, Chinese, south Indian and Bengali delight.

The Sahara Shahar had seen a similar verve and colourat the weddings of the two sons of Roy a few years ago.
