Bhansali not confident of making a comedy film

Mumbai: Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali,who has mastered the art of presenting intense and darkstories on celluloid, says he is not sure whether he will evertry his hands on making a comedy.

"I think it is difficult to make a full-fledged comedyfilm. I don't know will I ever make it. I never plan about mymovies..I cannot say what will be my next," Bhansali, who isgearing up for the release of Guzaarish told PTI.

The 47-year-old director has dealt with dark subjects inhis films like Khamoshi, which was about a deaf and mutecouple; Devdas was about a dejected lover; Black, showedthe trials and tribulations of a blind, deaf and mute girl.

All these movies went on to become big hits except forSaawariya which failed to ignite the box-office.Now Bhansaliis wooing audiences with Guzaarish that deals with anotherserious issue-euthanasia.

"Euthanasia is a subject that has never been handledin Indian cinema before. It is a very important issue. Withbig stars we made an entertaining film that still talks aboutthe sensitive issue. We are not propagating it...we are nottaking sides," the director said.

The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, which sees him essayingthe role of a magician who becomes a paraplegic when a magictrick goes wrong. Aishwarya Rai plays the role of a nurse.

With his new offering, Bhansali explores a paraplegic'slife.

"I like taking up subjects that are closer to life..towhich audience can relate but in an entertaining way. I don'twant to bore my audiences," he said.

The film, releasing on November 19, also marks the debutof Bhansali as a music composer. "Since my childhood I havebeen fascinated with music. I love listening Marathi andGujarati music," he said.
