Anurag wrote 1998's Satya, the film that made Ram Gopal Varma's name
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's
Bombay Velvet opened on Friday only to be skewered by critics and ignored at the box office and his colleague Ram Gopal Varma is gloating over the film's dismal performance on Twitter.
RGV, who's clearly still burnt by the disaster that was
Aag, ranted:
In another life, Anurag Kashyap and RGV were collaborators. Anurag wrote 1998's
Satya, the film that made RGV's name. He also wrote
Kaun? and the dialogues for
Shool before falling out massively with RGV and later dismissing him publicly on
Koffee With Karan saying, "Ram Gopal Varma was, not Ram Gopal Varma is."
He also derided his erstwhile mentor's much-reviled
Sholay remake, ambitiously titled Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, which crashed and burned in spectacular fashion.
And now there's
Bombay Velvet.
