Mumbai: Actress Deepika Padukone, who is reportedly dating her Bajirao Mastani co-star Ranveer Singh, said that she is traditional and conservative about relations.

In the film there is a love triangle, in which Deepika plays Bajirao's (Ranveer) second wife Mastani. Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.

When asked if like the film, a love triangle happens in her real life, would she fight for her love or be ok with it, she said, "You can't be blind to the situation. It depends on whose position I am in. Something that happens in films is something I would not subscribe to in real life. I am traditional and conservative when it comes to relations," Deepika told PTI. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone is 'Very Conservative' in 'Real Life')

Deepika had earlier said that her co-star Priyanka was her first friend before she made her acting debut in Bollywood. When asked if it is possible to be friends today with other actresses, she says, "It depends...with Priyanka it is different. I have known her first as a friend and then as a colleague. I have known her longer than some of the others.

"It may not be possible to be best friends, but it is possible to be respectful and cordial with one another," she said.

The Piku star has her own set of friends who are not from the industry. "I like to be connected with people from outside the industry. There is a different comfort level, as my friends know a different side of me. They know me before I became an actress, they know Deepika the girl. I feel different with my school friends," she said.

Deepika is on the top of her career right now and wants every film of hers to do better.

"I don't compete with anyone. I am very competitive with myself. I am trying to better myself. I want Tamasha to do better than my previous film Piku and Bajirao Mastani to do better than Piku and Tamasha," she said. (Also Read: Deepika Padukone Explains Why Piku is a 'Special' Film For Her)

The 29-year-old actress does not keep a tab on what her contemporaries are doing as she is focused on her work. "There is a constant desire to keep improving and learning and to never stagnate. My competition is never with who is doing what or who is doing which film. I don't have an interest, I don't keep a tab," she added.
