Deepika Padukone's 'Naked' Quote: Here's What She Actually Said

New Delhi: Actress Deepika Padukone rarely makes for explosive copy - she almost always holds her peace and hasn't made a single controversial statement since slamming ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor on TV show Koffee With Karan several seasons ago. So when she talks about being 'naked in front of Ranveer (Singh, co-star and rumoured to be current boyfriend),' it makes the headline. However, extracting just that one statement from the rest of her quote might cause (and possibly did cause) those reading it to believe that the 29-year-old star of Tamasha meant she could be literally unclothed. So for those who worked themselves up into a lather of excitement, here's the full text of what Deepika actually said in her interview with Bombay Times: "He is my best friend (and this is not to be taken lightly). I am emotional, sensitive and vulnerable and I hurt easily. I can be so naked in front of Ranveer and I know he will never hurt me or take me for granted. That is the kind of trust and understanding we have. The reason I love and respect him is that I can bare my soul and still feel comfortable. If this is divine connection - this is what it is."

Days ago, Deepika told NDTV, "What a fantastic year it's been. It's been great professionally and personally too. I couldn't have asked for more." Sitting next to her, Ranveer Singh gave her a knowing look.
