Christmas 2015 brought a very generous amount of box-office cheer for super-films like
Dilwale and
Bajirao Mastani, both of which opened in theatres on December 18.

Bajirao Mastani, which stars big Bollywood names like Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanaka Chopra, is a little short of the 100 crore benchmark and has garnered Rs 98 crores so far. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection figures on Twitter:
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's much-awaited release
Dilwale, managed a score of Rs 102.65 in its first week, ranking third in the "Week one top scorers of 2015" category. Salman Khan's
Bajrangi Bhaijaan and
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo continues to freeze the first two positions in the list, while
Bajirao Mastani is the fourth movie in order. (Also Read:

Dilwale also stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon as leads.
However, Mr Adarsh also notified that the 'tables have turned', as
Bajirao Mastani is expected to surpass
Dilwale at the box office race very 'soon'.
Hollywood's
Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which released overseas on December 18, made it to the Indian theatres on December 25 and minted a total of Rs 4.58 crores.
Directed by J J Abrams, the latest instalment in the
Star Wars series has stars like Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Harrison Ford, who reprises his role as Hans Solo.
