Mumbai:
After critical acclaim and their golden run at the National Awards, the producers of Do Dooni Chaar and lead actor Rishi Kapoor have expressed keenness in pursuing a sequel at the earliest.

The actor is even willing to delay other projects to accommodate Do Dooni Chaar 2. Director Habib Faisal, however, is in no hurry.

A source said, "Habib is writing a film for Yash Raj Films that he also wants to direct. He's also working on Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl for them. Rishi wants him to pen the sequel to Do Dooni Chaar immediately."

Rishi Kapoor has just finished shooting for Siddharth Malhotra's Agneepath. Soon after, it's Sajid Khan's Housefull 2. Then, he will take a break, after which he begins work on two projects.

The source added, "By his own admission, Rishi has over-committed this year. He reluctantly said yes to four projects this year. He may now have to opt out of two to accommodate Do Dooni Chaar 2, if it happens."

There's also a casting dispute putting a spanner in the works. While the actor is keen on the same cast, the director wants a fresh cast except for the Duggal couple played by Rishi and Neetu.

Rishi Kapoor said, "The whole purpose of the sequel would be defeated if the cast isn't retained. The freshness, the innocence and the essence would be lost. That is my opinion. Habib knows best."

Habib Faisal maintains, "I have to crack an idea for the sequel to happen."
