F se French: Anurag Kashyap Seeks a French Connection

Anurag has confirmed the reports though with more details

New Delhi:

Anurag Kashyap, considered to be the pioneer of Indian cinema's recent shift towards realistic movies, seems to have had enough of the country. According to reports, the director is planning to shift to France and operate out of there.

Anurag started out as a screenwriter and penned many acclaimed scripts for films like Satya and Shool, before garnering accolades for directing films like Dev D, Gulal and the Gangs Of Wasseypur series. He also dabbled in acting. (Also Read: Anurag Kashyap will fight censor board till the end)

He is also one of the founder of Phantom Films production banner, along with Vikas Bahl, Vikramadtiya Motwane and Madhu Mantena, which started operations in 2011, and has films like Lootera and Queen to its credit.

The director married actress Kalki Koechlin in 2011 ( which was his second marriage) but the couple split last year due to issues which were never revealed. They continue to be friends.

Reports suggest that he is planning to shift base to France and to operate from there after the release of his next film, Bombay Velvet, which is due in May 2015.

The director has reacted to the reports saying, "The only thing true is my moving out but it's not going to happen in the immediate future. I have a lot to finish here. And I only have stories that I want to turn into films in India. So even if I move, it will be a temporary and partial move."
