New Delhi:
Actor Varun Dhawan, who is riding high on the success of three back-back-back hits in rom-con genre, is all set to move out of his comfort zone. The actor will be next seen in director Sriram Raghwan's revenge drama film
Badlapur.
From the first look of the film, which released on November 28,
Badlapur appears to be an intense tale of revenge. The first poster features Varun (silhouette) staring at a man (presumably his foe) across an empty and dark railway platform.
While this is just a glimpse into the dark world of
Badlapur, the film's teaser trailer will be out in the first week of December and Varun's new look will be revealed tomorrow.
Varun Dhawan, who is known for sweet romantic hero roles courtesy
Student Of The Year and
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya said that sitcoms like
Breaking Bad and
Dexter inspired him to take up a dark role.
The film also stars Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is slated to release in February.
