Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, who recently underwent a brain surgery at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital, was discharged on Thursday (July 11, 2013). He greeted the media and fans as he came out of the hospital.

The actor was accompanied by his father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik, who will be seen playing a superhero in his next outing Krrish 3, has been advised four weeks of complete rest.

A source close to the actor said, "He is fine now but he will be taking rest at least for a month now. Doctors have asked him to take rest and complete the medication."

Hrithik, 39, who was diagnosed with chronic subdural haematoma, was admitted to the hospital on the evening of July 6, and was operated upon the next day. He informed his fans of his surgery via the social networking medium too. (Also read: Hrithik's brain surgery successful, says doctor)

Hrithik, who was originally supposed to leave for Prague on Sunday for a schedule of his film Bang Bang, had been complaining of persistent nagging headaches. His family decided to get an MRI done.

The test confirmed a clot behind his lobe. After consultations with doctors, an Indian and a neurosurgeon from abroad operated on him at the Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. An hole was drilled in his skull and the blood sucked out under local anesthesia.

Apparently the condition is quite common among athletes and boxers.

While at the hospital, Hrithik was visited by members of the film fraternity including names such as Shah Rukh Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowariker, Gauri Khan, Karan Johar among others.
