Bandra family court recently finalised the divorce proceedings of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and his estranged wife Sussanne in Mumbai

Bandra family court finalised the divorce proceedings of Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and his estranged wife Sussanne on November 1, in Mumbai. Sussanne's lawyer said that the couple had an out of court settlement.

Hrithik's lawyer Deepesh Mehta told IANS, "They are legally divorced now. Today at around 10:30 am, all things were done. They have got divorced in a very unique and elegant way where there is no alimony and not a single document drawn up between them. It's all on the basis of trust, respect and faith. This is an example they have set on how a couple should part ways in an elegant and classy way."

Earlier there were rumours that Sussanne had demanded Rs 400 crore in alimony, however, Hrithik had denied these reports.

Hrithik filed for divorce from his childhood sweetheart and wife of 13 years in April earlier this year. He had filed an application for separation by mutual consent, four months after they decided to end their marriage.

Hrithik and Sussanne got married in in 2000 and have two sons - Hrehaan and Hridhaan. The kids custody will be joint.

"They have joint custody. Whenever and whoever wants to be with the kids, can be with them," Mr Mehta said.

On December 14, 2013, Hrithik and Sussanne issued separate statements in which they called off their off their marriage.

Hrithik had said that Sussanne decided to walk out of the marriage. His statement read: "This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me, my love for her must accomplish that."

In her statement, Sussanne said that the separation was their "own individual choices". Her statement read: "We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own individual choices. We are parents to two wonderful kids and our responsibility remains to protect and take care of them. Nothing can change that."
