  • He then proceeded to start a live video stream
  • The stream was followed by more than 5000 followers
New Delhi: Actor Hrithik Roshan's Facebook community logged in on Monday only to be puzzled by this update to his profile picture.

This ambitious and still-unidentified young hacker, who clearly just wanted to be Hrithik for a while (dream on, dude), also started broadcasting a live video feed. He was love as 'Hrithik' for a brief few minutes but in that time, followed by over 5000 bemused followers of the page.

Hrithik, 42, and his team quickly went into damage control mode and deactivated the account. Soon after, having regained control, the real Hrithik Roshan posted a wry update.

The fast response may have reversed the hack but Hrithik had to then edit every post on the page and add his name at the end so that fans would know the difference between legitimate posts and fake changes. He then proceeded to change the display picture back to one of himself walking on the beach, wearing his own clothing brand, HRX.

Our sympathies, Hrithik Roshan. Strange things do seem to happen to the actor's social accounts. Perhaps this was also the work of an 'enterprising individual' and not just Twitter being weird:

God knows Hrithik could do with a laugh - his last film Mohenjo Daro was coldly-received by both critics and the box office.

The screenshots of Hrithik's account used above are being circulated on social media.
