Ahead of that, actor-producer Anil Kapoor talked about the healthy relation between India and Spain and how Indian cinema is hugely appreciated in the country. Mr Kapoor also announced the launch date of the second season of his TV show 24 through a small act on stage. He won Best Supporting Actor (Male) for his performance in Dil Dhadakne Do.

Once again, Shahid and Farhan took over the stage as Papu and Raju. The duo indeed made the audience crack up, but there were times when the guests rooted for popular comedian Kapil Sharma and demanded to call him on stage. Shahid and Farhan also touched upon topics like 'Ghar Wapsi', 'Award Wapsi' and controversies surrounding the Central Board of Film Certification.

Actor Hrithik Roshan was the first performer of the night. He mesmerised the audience with his moves to songs like Ek Pal Ka Jeena and Baawre.

Another high point of the night was the performance of actress Priyanka Chopra, who shook a leg to songs from her films including Dil Dhadkane Do. She also enthralled the audience with her signing.

Priyanka won Women of The Year and Best Supporting Actor (Female) for her performance in Bajirao Mastani. "This one comes as a surprise. I won't lie, it's definitely difficult to find your own way in Hollywood as it's just about one per cent of what Indian actors deserve in the world in today's time," said Priyanka.

Actress Deepika Padukone, won Best Actress for her role in Piku. Daughter of ace badminton player Prakash Padukone, Deepika used the platform to promote the importance of sports in people's life, including hers. Deepika's Bajirao Mastani co-star Ranveer Singh won Best Actor for the epic drama.

Deepika performed at the event looking gorgeous in bright pink separates. But it was her performance to Malhari, which originally features her co-star and rumoured boyfriend Ranveer, that garnered the loudest cheers.

Heropanti star Tiger Shroff paid tribute to late singer Michael Jackson and his idol Hrithik with his act on stage. He wasn't the only one who paid tribute to stars.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha did the same for veteran actress Sridevi, who was felicitated for her contribution to Indian cinema. However, the English Vinglish star was not present at the venue. But for Sonakshi, first a selfie with Ranveer:
