Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan believes he is a better singer than his Karan Arjun co-star Shah Rukh Khan.

At a promotional event for Salman's upcoming home production Hero, singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who has sung Yadaan Teriyaan, was asked who has better music sensibility - Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan - as he has collaborated with both of them, Rahat said, "I have heard only Salman Khan's song. I am yet to hear Shah Rukh Khan's song. Salman bhai can sing himself." (Also Read: I Can't Sing to Save My Life, Says Salman)

Salman, 49, interrupted the singer to say, "No chance. It's a losing battle. Don't listen. He (Shah Rukh Khan) will raise my hand (in victory)."

The actor-producer said they wanted an established singer for the movie and chose Amaal Malik.

"I felt, why not take Amaal. He has the tune, he has composed the song (title song) well and he also sings well. If Himesh Reshamiya and Sajid Wajid can sing, his uncle (Anu Malik) also sings then why not him? He should get a chance," said Salman.

The Kick star was all praise for another singer Palak Muchhal.

Palak also sings well. She has an incredible voice. She sang for Ek Tha Tiger. I make sure that she has something in my all films. If the song does well then new singers get chance. It depends on tune," he said.

"An idiot like me sung well. I don't know sur (tune) and beat, but the song is getting so many hits. I used to repeat what the singers would sing and then sing," he added.

Salman has sung another version of the film's title song.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, Hero will mark the debut of Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, daughter of Sunil Shetty.

The film, a remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 film of the same name, will hit the screens on September 11. Before the event began, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star had asked everyone in the audience to observe one minute silence in the memory of music composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who recently passed away due to cancer.
