Bollywood megastar AmitabhBachchan, whose performance as a 13-year-old dying of a fataldisease in Paa, won him his third National Award for BestActor, says that the honour made him feel "worthy and wanted".

The 67-year-old's turn as Auro, reel life son to reallife son Abhishek Bachchan in the AB Corps production,impressed the jury which "unanimously" declared him the best.

"Every award is most welcome, it makes you feel worthyand wanted. It is really a great moment for the entire family.I am very happy that Paa has won and Delhi-6 too, which hasAbhishek in it," Bachchan told PTI.

Paa won three more awards at the 57th NationalAwards here today, Best Hindi Film, Best Make-up and BestSupporting Actress for Arundhati Nag.

Bachchan said that his wife Jaya was more happy forAbhishek than for him.

"Jaya is really happy, but she is more happy forAbhishek. Well, mothers are always partial to their children.It indeed calls for a family party but Abhishek is shooting onan island far away from here," said Bachchan.

The actor remembered the experience of shooting Paaand said that it was indeed a tiring film.

"It was a tiring film. I would sit for five hours toget the make-up and then it will take another few hours to getit off. But in the end we all know that we did a marvellousjob," said Bachchan.

With his win, the actor has joined a elite league ofactors with multiple National Awards in their kitty, movingone step ahead of Malayalam superstar Mammootty who has wonthe award thrice.

Bachchan won the award for Best Newcomer in 1969 forSaat Hindustani, and went on to get two Best Actor trophies-- in 1991 for his portrayal of the angry young man Vijay Deenanath Chauhan in Agnipath and in 2006 for Black.Abhishek Bachchan meanwhile took to micro-bloggingwebsite Twitter to share the good news with everyone.

"My son just won the national award for hisperformance in Paa. I'm a very proud father today. Paa has won4 National Awards! So excuse me for a while going off to dothe monkey dance!," wrote Abhishek.
