Suraj Pancholi will now have to present himself at a police station on alternate days
Aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, charged with abetting actress Jiah Khan's suicide, has been granted bail by the Bombay High court. Mr Pancholi was required to pay a surety of Rs 50,000 and surrender his passport. He will also have to present himself at a police station on alternate days. Mr Pancholi has been in jail since June 13.
On June 27, a lower court denied Mr Pancholi's bail application, and sent him to jail for at least 13 more days.

Mr Pancholi, 21, who dated the actress for an year, was arrested on June 11, 2013. His family and lawyers say there is no evidence that links him to Ms Khan's hanging at her home on June 3, 2013.
Six days later, her family supplied a letter to the police in which the troubled actress appeared to be venting about a romantic relationship.
The letter does not name Mr Pancholi or anyone else.
Mr Pancholi is the son of Bollywood stars Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.
Jiah Khan, born in New York before moving to London and then Mumbai, made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with the controversial film Nishabd, playing a teenager in love with her best friend's much older father, played by Amitabh Bachchan.(Also read: Once Bollywood's brightest young thing)
