Kabir Khan photographed in Mumbai.
Mumbai:
Director Kabir Khan said that films are not made for the purpose of earning huge collections as that restricts the creativity of a filmmaker.
Kabir has recently directed Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in
Phantom which is a counter-terrorism drama, based on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, in 2008.
At a promotional event of
Phantom, he said: "Everyone wants their films to earn good collections at the box-office but we don't make films with the sole intention of numbers."
Kabir's previous film
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which featured Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor, received a phenomenal response in Pakistan. (Also Read:

"A film should be successful according to its budget. And if you feel that every film should touch a certain number, then we'll make the same kind of films, which I didn't want. As a director, I want to make different kinds of films. All films should be successful,
Bajrangi Bhaijaan was successful and I want that
Phantom is also a similar success," he added.
Phantom has been banned in Pakistan although Saif recently said that the film is not against any country. (Also Read:
