Filmmaker Karan Johar is associated with big budget films, witty one-liners and a great sense of humour. But now, the latest poster from his upcoming movie Bombay Velvet, shows him in a brand new villainous look.

In the Anurag Kashyap-directed film, KJo plays Kaizad Khambatta, the arch rival of street fighter Johnny Balraj, played by Ranbir Kapoor. His "evil look", shrewd smile and moustache have got a thumbs up from his friends and colleagues from tinsel town.

Overwhelmed by the response generated by the poster, Karan thanked everyone for appreciating his look.

Meanwhile, actress Preity Zinta said KJo's portrayal of a manipulative person in the film will be bang on.

Bombay Velvet is jointly produced by Phantom Films and Fox Star India, and is set for release on May 15. The film is set in the 1960s and is a large screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash's Mumbai Fables.
