For the exchange of vows at Mumbai's Taj Mahal palace hotel on Tuesday, Kareena wore a decades old gharara
belonging to the Pataudis. Her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore wore the same gharara
at her own wedding to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969.
After the ceremony, Kareena changed into a burgundy gharara
by Manish Malhotra, who's team also helped her get ready for the big night earlier that evening.
Manish Malhotra spoke about Kareena's wedding outfits to PTI: "I worked on the antique Pataudi gharara
that was restored by Ritu Kumar for Kareena's wedding... we did the final fittings and added a bit of touch of embroidery here and there. When Saif and Kareena exchanged vows... she wore Sharmilaji
for some time," he said.
"Kareena wore a burgundy colour embellished gharara
with maroon dupatta
. I gave a very old world charm to all the ghararas
," he told PTI.
