Mumbai: Actress Katrina Kaif, who plays the role of Tabu's daughter in their new film Fitoor, said that the hardest thing for her was to pretend that Tabu is her mother in the film.

"The hardest thing in this film was pretending that Tabu is my mother. She does not look like my mother from any angle. She is like a friend. I enjoyed the days we spent together in the film," said Katrina.

"She is one of the warmest people and is so down to earth. She is a phenomenal actress. So, whenever you are in front of her, you should remember that you should not lose yourself in her performance but, contribute to it. We have been fortunate that she was gracious enough to step in," added Katrina.

Katrina also said that her character is in Fitoor is very complicated.

"For me, the most important thing was to try and understand this girl's (her character) mind. She has always been a complicated character. So, is she manipulative? Is she like that? We spent a lot of time discussing, trying to give a life to our interpretation to this character," said Katrina.

Fitoor, which also features Aditya Roy Kapur and Aditi Rao Hydari, is scheduled to release on February 12.(Also Read: In New Fitoor Poster Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur Are in Love)
