Madhuri Yet To Approve Satte Pe Satta Remake

Highlights

  • A day after reports of Madhuri Dixit stepping into Hema Malini's shoes for the remake of Satte Pe Satta opposite Sanjay Dutt, she is eager to see what changes have been made to the character in the script before she signs the dotted line.
  • Speaking from Denver on her 44th birthday, Madhuri said, "A remake of Satte Pe Satta sounds good. Let's be fair. The movie was made 29 years ago. It can't be the same. I'd like to see what changes have been made before I agree to do the film. They've told me they'll send the script. I'm waiting for it."
  • Another problem is that Madhuri Dixit-Nene has just returned home to the US and is in no mood to return to Mumbai in a hurry.
  • She said, "Through Jhalak Dikhla Jaa I was able to connect with the younger generation who had not seen that much of my work. It was a trip I will cherish. But now I am back here with my family. And I'd like to spend some time with them. So I don't really know when I'll return to India."
  • When we asked Hema Malini (the original Indu from Satte Pe Satta) what she felt about Madhuri playing her role in the remake, her retort was, "I think someone much younger should play the part."
