New Delhi: Actor Aditya Pancholi has been ordered by the Supreme Court to vacate his Mumbai home by the end of the year. "You are a big man. You can buy a flat. Your conduct (harassing the landlord) is not acceptable."

Mr Pancholi, 50, has been fighting a court case over the house for nearly three decades. Last month, the Bombay High Court ruled against the actor of films like Yes Boss and Bodyguard and ordered him to move out and pay nearly Rs 13,000 that he owes as arrears to the landlady. The actor then appealed to the Supreme Court, where he lost his case on November 5.

Mr Pancholi's father rented the Juhu bungalow for Rs 150 a month in 1960. The owner, Tarabai Hate, filed a case against the family in 1977 for defaulting on several months of rent. Mr Pancholi's claim that he had not received a notice to settle the amount was rejected by the Supreme Court.

Mr Pancholi's son, Sooraj, is an actor who made his debut in September's Hero. He was arrested in 2013 for allegedly aiding in the suicide of his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old actress Jiah Khan, and spent 23 days in jail. (Also Read: Sooraj Pancholi on Jiah Khan Episode: Time is Biggest Healer)
