After Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand has now made Nawazuddin Siddiqui's latest film
Manjhi - The Mountain Man tax-free in the state.
The Ketan Mehta-directed film, which released on August 21, was granted the tax-free status by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat. (

According to a statement, film specialists met Mr Rawat and requested him to waive off tax on the film.
Manjhi - The Mountain Man is based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi, a labourer from Gehlaur village in Gaya district widely known as the Mountain Man.
Using just a hammer and a chisel, Dashrath Manjhi, reduced a 55-kilometre journey to 15-kilometre by cutting a direct path through a mountain. He did so after his wife died after an accident because she had not been able to receive urgent medical care in time. (Also Read -
