Mishra will not change the title Yeh Saali Zindagi

Mumbai: Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who ismiffed with the Censor Board over objections raised againstthe title of his upcoming film Yeh Saali Zindagi, says, hewill not change it as there is nothing abusive about it.

"There is no way the title can be refused. I won't changethe title. I have got clearance from Censor Board on October1. We have the signature of the officer-in-charge. We havenine censor certificates. I don't know what the problem is,Mishra said.

Censor Board Chief Sharmila Tagore has raised objectionsto the title of Mishra's film Yeh Saali Zindagi.

"Now that our money has gone in, promos and trailers areon, the film is releasing on February 4. I have no idea abouttheir displeasure with the title. If they had any problem theyshould have said on October 1," he said.

Directed by Mishra, Yeh Saali Zindagi is a romantic thrillerstarring Irrfan Khan, Arunoday Singh, Chitrangda Singh andAditi Rao Hydari.

"Saali is not a bad or abusive word. It was a song(Zindagi pe tera mera kiska na zor nahi haihum sochte kuchhai yeh saali sochti kuch aur haiyeh saali zindagi hai) andthis is how the title of the film happened," Mishra said.

Asked if this negative publicity helped him in garneringbox office returns, Mishra said, I did not ask for negativepublicity. I did not want to start any controversy. I don'tknow why this has come up. The film is scheduled for releaseon February 4.

On the usage of the title in his real life, Mishra, said,"All of us has some grievances in their life. But sometimesproblems solve your life. Sometimes life turns you round...flip-flops you so one feels why this thing happened after somany good things. Life is a complicated journey. In my lifethere were instances when I have said Yeh Saali Zindagi."

"When I was a 22-year-old, a girl refused to marry me..itwas like the end of the world to me. Today I think she savedmy life because I wouldn't have become a filmmaker. Then whenI did not get admission in a university in America... ifchosen I would have become a clinical psychologist. It isabout how chance plays a role in your life, he said.

"Life has a habit of surprising you thats why 'saali' notbecause it is bad," Mishra added.
