Aamir and Kiran Rao's son Azad Rao Khan was born in December last year
Azad Rao Khan is probably the most watched child in India along with, of course, Beti B. But it seems the toddler, who was born via IVF in December last year, probably won't let that turn his head as, according to father Aamir, he is lost in thought most of the time.
In an interview to the Times of India
, Aamir was quoted as saying that Azad had taken his thoughtfulness from him. When Aamir was asked about whom Azad took after, the actor declared, "Umm... Dekhiye ispe roz jhagda hota hai ki kis pe gaya hai . Kiran ko lagta hai uss pe gaya hai, mujhe lagta hai mujh pe
. But to be fair, he's a mix of the two of us. In terms of his physicality, his eyes and the upper part of the face have gone on me, and the mouth is more like Kiran's. In terms of his personality and nature also, he's a combination. He's got some qualities of me, and Kiran ka
, he has that infectious joy which she has in her personality, I think he's taken that from her."
When asked to explain whether he meant that Azad had inherited his "seriousness," Aamir said, "I'd like to say he's taken his thoughtfulness from me! He's lost in his thoughts, like I am, most of the time. But he has a very winning smile like Kiran's."
The doting father also revealed that the toddler was doing well and was a very happy child. "Both Kiran and I feel extremely blessed," he said.
Aamir also revealed that it was his wife who had insisted on the name Azad. He said, "At first, I was not so sure, I thought it was too heavy a name for the child. But she said, nahi, mujhe toh Azad hi chahiye
. I was happy for her to take the call, finally."
The actor also seems keen on a secular upbringing for his son and said he would leave it for him to take the final call on his faith since these matters were a personal choice.
With such decisions left to his discretion, Azad certainly has lots of food for thought!
