The film will be the actor's ninth onscreen appearance with his wifeof four years and Abhishek is keen to test their comic timing.
"I have done quite a few films with Aishwarya and I havealways enjoyed working with her, even before we were togetherand married.
Ladies and Gentlemen is a romantic comedy, soit's something we have never done before. It will beinteresting to see if we have that comic timing," Abhishektold PTI.
The 35-year-old actor will play a man with a roving eyeand Aishwarya his dutiful wife in the film. And Abhishek islooking forward to reuniting with his real life love onscreen.
"I am really looking forward to working with her again asshe is a great co-star. Very supportive and a hard workingprofessional," said Junior Bachchan.
The actor is equally devoted to his craft and he hasdecided to give marriage anniversary celebrations a miss topromote his upcoming thriller
Dum Maro Dum.
"On our anniversary I will be busy promoting 'Dum MaroDum' so me and Aishwarya haven't made any grand plans. I guesswe will just do something quiet at home," said the actor.
Dum Maro Dum is special for Abhishek in more ways thanone. The film, set in the world of sex and drugs which luresmillions of tourists into Goa every year, is Abhishek's thirdcollaboration with childhood friend Rohan Sippy.
And he is in love with his character, ACP Kamath, a toughcop out to clean up the drug mafia.
"The work on the film began two years ago and I havebeen on board since then. Rohan actually wanted me to play DJJoki, but when I read the script I knew that I had to play ACPKamath.
"I found the character magnetic and I was instantly drawnto him. He is in emotional turmoil but does not let it showand manages to have a very wacky sense of humour and he hassome amazing one-liners," said Abhishek.
The film has run into legal troubles after accusationsthat it is a negative portrayal of Goa and Goan women, but theactor said that it is just an over-reaction.
"The intention is to make an entertaining film, not tostart a controversy or hurt anyone's feelings or show anyonein a bad light. Having said that we are more than willing asmakers to address any objections though the film was passedwithout cuts by the Censor Board. And we have already changedthe dialogue which started the controversy," said Abhishek.
His career graph has been experiencing a downward spiralof late with three back to back box-office flops,
Game,
Khelein Hum Jee Jan Se and
Raavan. And Abhishek has noqualms in accepting his mistakes.
"The truth is out there for everyone to see and me sayingit otherwise won't change anything. If you make a mistake youhave to accept it," said the actor.
Dum Maro Dum starring Abhishek, Bipasha Basu, RanaDaggubati and Prateik Babbar will release on April 22.
