All roads lead to London as Olympic fever grips the world. Among the many famous (and not so famous) folks who've touched down at Heathrow is Amitabh Bachchan.
"Olympics have reformed the entire airport here in London. There are only smiling faces and attendants on help mode at every yard almost. There is massive traffic, but also efficient management to not allow delays and human jams," Big B wrote on his blog
If the Olympic committee is thanking the weather gods for the bright sunshine, perhaps they ought to be thanking Mr Bachchan. He writes: "They say I have brought the sun along with me. They always do when the weather is good. A regret, when it is otherwise. Obsession with weather ... another British trait !"
The atmosphere in London, no doubt electric, took Mr Bachchan back in time: "For me ... just one Olympic, the one in Los Angeles. Opening closing ceremonies, holding up material given as you enter to hold up as a part of the designs that will appear when asked to do so, the whole business of badges and its exchange and collection. I still have a host of them from the 1984 in LA .. "
And also rekindled a more private memory: "But also alongside a quick flash of your own moments of pride and place during athletic meets at School - several track events won, and the cups and the victory stand and Mother proudly taking pictures of them. Those pictures of me on the podium on top of the numerical that said 1 ... still lying with me, along with my cups won. One look at them and you would wonder what happened to this athlete now ... ha ha ! Used a lot of that in my films ... with some reserve !!"
