On Twitter, Ayesha Takia vs Sid Mallya

Highlights

  • Taking your private life to Twitter is fast becoming a tradition of sorts in modern celebrity existence. Just last week, the Shah Rukh Khan vs Shirish Kunder feud played itself out on the microblogging site.
  • Then last evening, actress Ayesha Takia and Kingfisher heir Sidhartha Mallya fought The Great Twitter war. Ms Takia tweeted a series of complaints alleging that her sister had been mistreated by the staff of Kingfisher Airlines. Mr Mallya responded by asking her to “pipe down, love.” Not exactly great customer service, though his airline’s official twitter account was far more obliging.
  • Ayesha's tweets, heavy on exclamation marks began with: "The worst airline, kingfisher!!!shockingly baddddddddddd airport staff behavior at delhi airport with my sister.
  • How can this happen!!!how dare this vinay podwal misbehave with a passenger and tare her boarding pass,it cud b any one of u!!think about it
  • My heart is beating so fast with anger that a girl at an airport gets treated this way by airport staff!he is at the kingfisher counter.
  • She is unwell and has a horrible backache, can't believe this happend 2 her rite now!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  • Followers of the actress promptly weighed in with messages of support, condemning Kingfisher and urging Ayesha to file a complaint, to which she responded with: We r goin 2 take serious action against this and go 2 court with it,let the law handle it,so that this dosent happen 2 any girl again!
  • In the wake of all this angst on Twitter, Kingfisher scion Sidharth Mallya aimed a few well chosen words of his own: Been getting retweets about Ayesha Takia & KFA. not too sure who she is, an actor of some sorts?? But it seems something has upset her!!
  • Don't know why Ayesha Takia is tweeting so much when she wasn't even present. There are always two sides to a story. Pipe down love.
  • And then signed off with: "I'm loving this...people too easy to wind up on twitter. I'm bored now. Good night."
  • Leaving Ayesha Takia fuming with tweets like: I will rant siddharth mallaya,,wot will u DO!!!!!this Is ur way of dealing with a hospitality buiseness!!!wow!!learn manners n respect!!! It was left to Ayesha’s father to step in and explain, on Twitter, what had really happened to his other daughter. His tweet reads: @Ayeshatakia Natasha was booked in KF from Kathmandu to Mumbai. KF cancelled their flt and gave a bkg in AI. Not her fault AI was delayed.
  • Ayesha’s sister, Natasha Takia, was booked onto a Kingfisher flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi, from where she would take a connecting flight to Mumbai. Kingfisher cancelled the flight from Kathmandu and booked her onto an Air India flight which arrived late in Delhi. As a result, Natasha missed her connection to Mumbai. Kingfisher denied that their staff even handed Natasha a boarding pass, leave alone tear it up, as she was waitlisted.
  • While Ayesha Takia and Sidhartha Mallya traded insults, Kingfisher's official Twitter account made amends, apologising to Natasha Takia for inconvenience caused: @NatashaTakia Sorry for the inconvenience caused.Request you to please meet Mr Akhilesh at the check in counter & collect your boarding pass.
  • While being careful to explain they were not to blame: @Ayeshatakia @NatashaTakia We have investigated the matter, we understand that ur flight on another airline into Delhi landed late.
  • Their parting shot: @Ayeshatakia @NatashaTakia We believe in serving our guest, regret the inconvenience caused to you.
