On Twitter, Bollywood Grieves For Siachen Braveheart

New Delhi: Four days after he was found and rescued from under 25 feet of ice at the Siachen glacier, Lance Naik Hanamanthappa Koppad died in the military hospital in New Delhi on the morning of February 11. He was just 33.

On Twitter, Bollywood celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, Manoj Bajpayee, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Punit Malhotra and sound designer Resul Pookutty grieved for the fallen soldier, who is survived by his wife and a two-year-old daughter.

A wreath laying ceremony was scheduled at Delhi's Brar Square on Thursday evening.

Lance Naik Hanamanthappa spent six days buried alive under ice at Siachen after an avalanche came crashing down on the military post.
