Mumbai: He played the evil anti-hero inBollywood for decades but Prem Chopra is a gentleman offscreen and the veteran will be honoured with the Mother TeresaAward for his humanitarian work and five-decade-long career.

The 76-year-old who is still winning rave reviews forhis film roles, said that he is humbled at being chosen for anaward whose previous recipients include Rajeev Gandhi and theDalai Lama.

"I feel really happy and honoured. And this award isspecial as it has been instituted in the name of MotherTeresa, the saint who served the poorest of our country,"Chopra said.

The actor, who has done nearly 400 films over a careerspanning five decades, will receive the award at a function inKolkata on March 3.

"I don't believe in charity for the sake of it and donot talk about the work that I do," said Chopra, whosedistinct style and one-liners including the hit, "Prem Naamhai mera... Prem Chopra", from Bobby, are recognised by filmgoers worldwide.
