New Delhi: Yesteryear's star couple Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor are set to create magic on the big screen once again by acting together in the comedy Do Dooni Chaar, which is releasing Friday.

Neetu made a very brief appearance with Rishi in Love Aaj Kal, but Do Dooni Chaar is their first full-fledged role together after 1980 movie Dhan Dhaulat.

"Do Dooni Chaar would be our 13th film together. I sure hope that No. 13 proves lucky for me," Rishi, 58, said in an interview.

Produced by Planman Motion Pictures' for Rs.70 million and distributed by Walt Disney India, the social comedy is the directorial debut of Habib Faisal. Archit Krishna and Aditi Vasudev also star in pivotal roles.

"It's a very touching story of a teacher who gives so much knowledge to the world, and his struggle to buy a car," said Rishi.

Do Dooni Chaar revolves around a middle class teacher Mr. Duggal (Rishi), who lives in a DDA flat in Delhi and is coping with the double digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary.

Adding to his expenses and worries is a teenaged daughter, a fast-track son and a wife who wants luxurious life. Duggal's life is spent in taking care of the basics until one day they decide to dream. Their ticket to aspirations comes in the form of a wedding invitation that follows a journey of chaos, realisations, calculations, confrontations and bonding.

The crazy Duggals bond in the most unexpected and hilarious situations and just when they think they are sorted out, comes one big, lurking temptation marking the beginning of yet another journey that will drive them nuts.

Not many know that Rishi had to work hard to convince Neetu, 52, to give her nod for the project.

"One evening I told Neetu about the film. She said, 'Are you mad? I haven't acted for 30 years... I reasoned with her... 'Do this film for me! People want to see us together.' I convinced her to listen to the script. And she agreed immediately. Then I knew this film would work," said Rishi.

Neetu didn't regret her decision to act again. In fact, she realised movie promotion techniques have changed drastically over the course of time. She didn't mind being involved in the barrage of media activities to promote the film either.

"I think it's very important in today's time because movies work for mostly one or two weeks so it is very important that people should know that a movie is going to release and it (heavy promotions) is a very good medium for that," she said.
