Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated actress Priyanka Chopra, for the Clean India campaign as a part of his Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, the actress was spotted cleaning a local Mumbai area.

Priyanka tweeted that she accepts PM Modi's invitation and said, "If we come together we can make a difference."

In a series of tweets, the Mary Kom star emphasised the importance of the campaign, and talked about an individual's responsibility to bring about a significant change in the society. She said, "Every action we take will be important. I want to make the change. I want a clean India. It's time to clean up our act."

Pm Modi nominated nine Indians for the task. Among them are actors Aamir Khan Salman Khan, Kamal Haasan and the entire team of the TV show Tarak Mehta Ka Olatah Chasma. PM Modi has also asked them to nominate nine others each, thereby creating a chain of sorts.

Aamir Khan, whose TV show Satyamev Jayate stressed the need for cleanliness in the last season, was also at the event and urged everyone to support the cause.

The Dhoom: 3 actor told the press, "I clean up at home, and our office is waste-free. We should all support the Prime Minister in this step."

The five-year long cleanliness drive was launched today, Mahatma Gandhi's 145th birth anniversary, in Delhi.
