Actress Priyanka Chopra shared a black and white picture of herself and her grandmother Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri on Instagram on June 4. Priyanka, who is currently in Mumbai after a busy schedule of filming
Quantico and
Baywatch film, lost her grandmother on June 3. Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri was 94.
Priyanka also Instagrammed an old picture of herself as a little girl, her grandmother and
father Ashok Chopra last week:
Priyanka said in a statement on Friday: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri, our beloved grandmother, freedom fighter, social activist, MLA, amongst other things. She was an amazing woman who lived a full life, filled with purpose and love."
"Those whom we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day," Priyanka added.
Priyanka, 33, finished shooting for her Hollywood debut
Baywatch in May. She will play antagonist Victoria Leeds in the beachside film which also stars actors Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandria Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera. Directed by Seth Gordon,
